Javier Torres was born in Madrid on July 20, 1954. He is a painter and Graphic Designer.

He studied Law and Communication before later pursuing studies in Advertising and Design to fully dedicate himself to graphic composition and painting. His painting offers a very particular vision of everyday landscapes; an indeterminate allusion to the sumptuous ochres of autumn and the schematic bareness of winter, where much of the protagonism lies in the complexity of its forms.

The quality with which he visually endows his projects sometimes reaches an almost supernatural eloquence, in which, by learning to decipher an underlying iconography, one manages to achieve the closeness and familiarity with which the artist conceived them initially.

His gaze bursts into the scenarios of the subconscious, achieving a rigorous, hierarchical, and at the same time attractive state.

Javier Torres's work goes beyond conventional canons; he is interested in those things that generally go unnoticed, the clandestine and the unknown have always caught his attention, ethereal and serene landscapes in which the most fleeting moments of human existence are captured.
